SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted on May 9, 2010 with 0 commentsWhat the...? Was that the sound of something being smashed?
Why, yes. Yes it was. Yid Vicious hiatus, to be exact. For a guest opening spot on the May 8 concert of the Madison Russian Folk Orchestra. Balalaikas were strummed, accordians were throttled, the other kind of stringed instruments I can't remember the name of were plucked. Songs were sung, bulgars were bandied about. History was made.
And, of course a hiatus was violently shattered with a mighty hammer of klezmer. But only temporarily. For our time to bask in the revelry of our first concert in many weeks was all too brief and now it's time to pick up all the many jagged, sharp pieces and haphazardly glue them back together so that hopefully it won't leak, even if you can clearly discern the spider-webby pattern of where all the cracks are, for the hiatus must continue. For another month. Meanwhile, Yid Vicious will rest, gathering its strength for the long summer of freylekh-making ahead.
Periodic updates will follow. One more month. Hopefully they didn't skimp on the glue.
